Mark Hugh Miller Obituary

An Indiana man who made a name for himself as the voice of the Evansville Philharmonic in the 1970s and '80s died last week at the age of 71, the AP reports.

According to a obituary, Mark Miller was born in Indianapolis and graduated from the University of Evansville with a BA in Theatre in 1974.

He worked as a reporter, anchorman, and sports director on local TV and radio before moving on to work as a promotions manager at WNIN, where he eventually inspired a few runs in the John Darling comic strips.

Miller is survived by his wife of 46 years, Brenda Middleton Miller; children Mathisen Hugh Miller of Portland, Ore., and Ashley Victoria Miller of Newburgh, Ind.; and sister Sarah Miller Larson of Columbia, Mo.
